Elton John Names Collaborators For New LP
One of the world's most prolific musicians is creating new material. Spinner.com reports that Sir Elton John is working on an LP with his longtime collaborator, lyricist Bernie Taupin. John and Taupin have also enlisted the creative input of Leon Russell for the project which -- according to Taupin's website -- is on its way to the studio. Veteran producer T-Bone Burnett is on board to work on production of the recording sessions. Burnett is coming off an Oscar win for Best Song on Sunday for "The Weary Kind" from the Jeff Bridges film "Crazy Heart." Billboard.com also reports that legendary Canadian rocker Neil Young will make an appearance on the new project, as will Grammy-winning R&B star Booker T. Jones.
The upcoming LP from Sir Elton will be the rock legend's 30th studio project. His last -- "The Captain & The Kid" was released in 2006.
